For a company that says love people first, it doesn't treat team members well.

Pros

Remote for support team members not in Dallas, decent insurance, and discounts on orthodontic treatment for you and your family, but only if you're near a clinic (no ortho insurance coverage if you're not near a clinic).

Cons

Horrible work-life balance. Not enough employees to manage the workload. Leaders expect you to figure out how to complete deadlines with constantly growing priorities and no additional team members or resources to support. Team members are ALL BURNT OUT and working over 40 hours a week. When you mention concerns about workload, they make empty promises, vague recommendations, or tell you to hang in there. The company is looking to grow in terms of the number of locations but doesn't hire additional support team members to manage the additional work. Poor pay for the amount of work expected. Constantly changing priorities. Leadership doesn't understand processes and makes ill-informed decisions.

Pros

I worked at Smile Doctors for two years and experienced constant undermining, lack of advocacy, and leadership unwilling to address core issues. Despite promises of training and growth, I never received any real support or professional development. There was no clear path for advancement, no opportunities to learn, and I observed strong discrimination that made it impossible to thrive. Ultimately, I resigned due to the toll on my mental health and the organization’s unwillingness to address legitimate concerns.

Cons

Toxic leadership culture with frequent blame-shifting No real training or professional development opportunities No advancement in responsibilities or compensation for two years Discrimination, lack of advocacy, and minimal support for employees of color Nonexistent accountability or structured processes to fix underlying issues

Pros

None unless your middle management who never step in an office but receive all the rewards

Cons

Their slogan is love people first straighten teeth second however the only people they love is upper management. Lack of support. They promise bonus but make it impossible to meet goals to receive. Bonus management and doctors if they cut labor costs making those work in the office work harder with less pay
