Pros

-remote work options -meaningful work

Cons

-terrible bosses/management- individuals who do not view management as a service oriented position in the slightest. Rather, they literally do not lift a finger while the attorneys and paralegals are severely overworked and underpaid. -they lie about benefits (and other things) in the interview/job offer process -they will be extremely pushy about getting you to start immediately, once you accept the job, because they are understaffed (huge red flag) -they might ask you to start the training process before you are on payroll -they bill clients while still paying attorneys a legal aid level salary (as opposed to a private firm salary). So, each client/case will generate thousands of dollars, while the attorneys working the cases are barely paid enough to make ends meet. This also makes it seem like it's not truly a nonprofit organization (it just feels very shady) -California taxes + the taxes of your home state (if you work for them remotely) are deducted from your pay, making the already low salary even worse -the founder is literally the most arrogant person I have ever met, and will seize every possible opportunity to subtly or openly brag about himself
