Pros

If you have low standards (or any at all) as a developer, you will love it here. SoftOne Technologies doesn't care much about inexperienced developers and barely gives them any responsibilities, which means free money if you just show up at your time. Also, there is a private health insurance program that the company gives you access to after 3 months (no idea why you need 3 months).

Cons

- Bad mentoring for new developers - Outdated technologies that have no application in other companies (Delphi & Sencha Touch in 2021... seriously?) - Tons of racist and sexist hate speech shared openly with no consequences

Pros

If you are lucky you will be working in a team that makes interesting projects, using state of the art technologies. In the most cases, technical directors are open to new ideas. Work life balance, although 8.5 hours per day. Anxiety free environment.

Cons

If you think that the above pros are exactly what you want, think again. Company takes drastic measures and totally doesn't care about its employees. They practice illegal measures, like giving mandatory leaves. They won't allow remote work. They asked all unvaccinated employees to bring two rapid or one pcr test every week and pay themselves, before the government even announced such laws. Whoever didn't want to be vaccinated or his doctors told them not to, had to bring such test or face illegal actions like mandatory leave. Any change they make to hr policies are completely ignoring employees, it's their way or the highway. You will be just a number for them, you can be always replaced, probably with a more junior and more cost efficient for them employee. The salaries are low. In my department the average salary is 4000k, while all developers get max 1000€... I wonder who gets payed so much, you get the point... The management altogether has inferiority complex, if you cross them, it will be your end. The life insurance is given to you after 3 months (lol what?), while in other companies it's given from day one. No respect for personal data. No respect for anyone, as of gossip is everywhere about everyone. You will never get raise. People working 3 years at the company got the 3rd year 54€ raise. Some employees have told me that management forced them to take their laptops to vacation and work, or answer phones while being on vacation. Overall, search a better company. Sooner or later there will be a decision taken from the company that will be against your interests and until then you will be losing your time. Search a better place to work, with established culture and not a multimillion company that runs like a Greek tavern or a family farm.

Pros

Great colleagues — the people you work next to are often the only thing that keeps you sane. The company name is known, especially in ERP circles, which might help you get your next job. Pay is on time. Training subscriptions are available (if you have time to use them). Some benefits (health insurance, occasional perks) show that someone somewhere is trying.

Cons

I joined SoftOne excited, driven, and hopeful. I left demotivated and drained — not because I couldn’t handle pressure, but because I couldn’t keep pretending that this place would ever reward effort, listen to feedback, or offer real growth. The pay is insulting. Let’s not sugarcoat it. You get minimum-tier wages for mid-level work. You ask for a raise, and you’re told to wait another year — even if you’re carrying a team. I’ve seen people doing two roles and still stuck on entry-level pay. No real mentoring. Juniors are dropped into projects without guidance. “Figure it out” is the culture. Seniors are too busy (or too burned out) to help. If you ask questions, you’re seen as weak. If you stay silent and struggle, that’s just expected. Middle management is a black hole. Especially in departments like Web/R&D, you’re dealing with people who have no real leadership or tech background. They gossip about employees, delegate everything, and take credit for what the team delivers. Some don’t know the tools or processes they’re supposedly managing. No direction, no structure. Every team works differently. Some have basic agile routines; others are run like messy startups with no tech roadmap. Decisions change weekly. Priorities change daily. It’s chaos with a smile. Career “growth” is just a myth. You don’t move up based on skills. You move up if you’re friends with the right people or if you say the right things in the right tone. Staying quiet and being agreeable seems to be more valued than actually contributing. Remote work and flexibility? Only if you’re lucky. It really depends on your manager. Some are reasonable. Others treat WFH like a favor you don’t deserve. People outside Athens get the worst of this — especially in Thessaloniki, where micromanagement is extreme.
