Pros
My supervisors were very supportive throughout the learning process
Cons
When I worked there, I wasn't given access to the Microsoft SQL database when working remotely. That required a VPN which I wasn't privileged to. Hopefully things have changed.

RecommendsNegative OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Softchoice full-time for more than a year
Pros
The ISAM job gives a broad, ability to jump into an IT career, either right out of school or with some prior experience. ISAMs have a surprising amount of power, and depending on their relationship wtih their AE, can end up acting as effectively a AE for either large portions of the customer business or for entire customers. Exposure to lots of solutions categories and vendors allow very quick learning in a large number of areas. Company culture is fun, youthful, and overall supportive, and there are plenty of options for promotion internally right above the ISAM level.
Cons
Smaller VAR, so long-term promotion opportunities are somewhat more limited than a global enterprise firm with more departments and openings. The ISAM job is very difficult, not everyone has a good time jumping into it, and there is a very real learning hump that needs to be gotten over before the job feels manageable. ISAMs often can't specialize on positioning specific categories/solutions due to the pace of business and broad sort of customer service asks that the job demands.

Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at Softchoice full-time for more than a year
Pros
Friendly work environment Relaxed work environment, no pressure from management
Cons
Lack of support for new employees, no relevant training. They expect you to learn everything on your own or know it before joining them. - Management doesn't value employees, in 2020 company saved $$$ by not having expenses, travel, etc. Yet no bonuses, profit sharing, or pay increases All words but no action - Processes are tedious and rely on many silos that don't function well together

Pros
- pizza lunches - Good location in Toronto - Friday Happy Hour
Cons
- Company only cares about sales department - No one speaks to P&G department, hard to make friends - HR is very isolated from rest of company - Poor leadership - Poor work life balance - For a tech company, it is very behind in processes
