Pros

- Interesting sector with ambitious digital transformation plans. - Exposure to ERP and warehouse automation technology. - Some good people doing their best within constraints.

Cons

- Lack of structured onboarding or guidance for new hires. - Poor stakeholder alignment. Frequent feedback but little support. - Probation process felt reactive rather than developmental. - Expected to deliver in systems with minimal training. I was directed to watch YouTube videos and read opaque documentation while formal training was declined by the business when requested. - Felt micromanaged at times, but also unclear about what success looked like. - Minimal investment in autonomy, relatedness, or competence. The “ARC” that makes work feel meaningful.

Early finish on a Friday.

Cons

No progression, treat very poorly, little to no communication, forced to do overtime and if you don’t you get put on bad jobs. Very clicky, if you don’t know everything before you go nobody helps. Pay is poor for the work you do. Chinese state owned. Office staff work 3 days in the office you’re expected to do 6. Huge turnover, the 15 shop floor lads have to work 6.30-3 and the 200+office staff have flexi and work from home most of the time and when they don’t they come straight in and have breakfast anyways. All round I’d avoid like the plague.

Management always changing ways of doing things before they can bed in. Never make enough money on projects. Bonuses unheard off
