Pros

Overall the non managerial staff are friendly and nice

Cons

- The delusional CEO - Under-qualified, inexperienced leadership team who for the most part are maintained based on personal connection and run on forced hype. - Lack of a realistic company vision. The full explanation: The best way to describe SoleSavy is to compare it to the Titanic. They boast themselves as being the greatest of all time, something to be admired, a game changer. However... There are some hardworking employees in the basement doing their best to keep the engine running while the leaders drink their proverbial tea in first class, sitting around convincing themselves "this ship is unsinkable!" But we all know how it ended for the Titanic when it is all talk and no preparation. At the head of this first class table is the CEO, a man whose work history largely consists of solo entrepreneurial ventures, thereby, making him completely tone deaf to the nitty gritty ins and outs of the regular staff employees, and the gap in knowledge is embarrassingly apparent. Most team meetings consist of being reminded yet again, that he is the CEO, as if we could ever forget, and we are forced to be scolded like children, for not complying with his demand that we post fake reviews for the app, while he "had to leave his wife and kid behind" to travel somewhere to, you know, do his job. Why exactly we need to be forced and guilted into posting fake reviews, or be further guilt tripped about him having to travel without his family to do his job as CEO to keep the company barely afloat, is beyond the understanding of us lowly employees. And if the culture was not already toxic enough, they also got rid of any chance of reprieve for us since wiping away the entire HR team, along with managers who actually spoke up against the grain to bring some common sense back into the company. Unfortunately the job market is not great right now which makes changing companies difficult, and being an old school sneakerhead I want to believe in the vision I was sold on when I first joined, but things are not looking great for us here in coach. I have no doubt that if there ever was a need for a rescue mission, they only have enough life rafts for the select few elites, with the CEO throwing on the first life vest.

Pros

Ability to work from home

Cons

Leaders have absolutely no idea what they are doing CEO is clueless about how to run a company Spent money like water on a week of drinking and partying then weeks later did a mass layoff, then a few months later, another layoff, then months later another... It was the employees who felt the week of partying wasn't necessary and was saying we'd prefer an in person opportunity to work in teams, but the CEO, DP wanted a week of hype and clout so he wasted away money the company didn't have on partying. After the mass layoff, DP called a team meeting and proceeded to blame women's rights and gun control??? on the layoff. Not one word of self reflection or admitting any wrong doing on his end - just that it was women's right and gun control problems that was to blame hahaha, talk about being a joke.

Pros

Great community with teams. Certain individuals who are not sucking up to the CEO are actually genuine and smart.

Cons

If you have passion for something but lacks the brain cells to run a successful business, you should just stay home and collect shoes for your pretty shelf. This company, when put in a right context, is such a great concept for the sneakerheads like us. But, this can only last so long with someone with no knowledge of how a business should run. One unnecessary “team-bonding” conference and so many other “look what we did at this event”-events, the company is completely dry of money. For the time I have been with this company, I have seen rounds and rounds of layoffs with the CEO blaming this solely on the current economy when the whole company knows that’s not the case. I’ve seen so many of my dear teammates and friends let go from this company while others have gained promotion. He thinks he is doing a great job at deceiving everyone when he’s clearly not good at anything in his position. Not to mention that this CEO was cursing in front of the whole company when his written announcements on Slack were not getting emojis, when people didn’t have their webcams on, or when the employees didn’t leave fake reviews for our own app while he was out of the country asking for investments for the company (that he probably used on unnecessary events). Yes- I can say that we are now not only forced to turn our webcams on during our meeting, but also to leave 5-star reviews for our own outsourced app. Another layoff happened yesterday to some people. Within a group of people here, we always talk about who will be next and when. We are all shaking in fear of this tyranny and job insecurity. Bunch of us are already looking elsewhere for a job right now wanting an out. There is no vision or future in this company whatsoever. I will give it another year or so before it crumbles. If this company really wants to see another day of light, the CEO needs to step down. TO ANYONE WHO WAS APPROACHED FOR A POSITION, if you read this review and still think you will like this company, I don’t know what more I can do for you as an insider. If you want, you can take my position and suffer here instead.
