Pros

nice offices; hard working analysts (the younger people); support staff is nice. (HR, marketing, admin assistants).

Cons

Where to start? Upper management, especially COO, and a bulk of the managing directors are legitimate nightmare.:rude, angry, dismissive, unhelpful, degrading, just baddd people in general. the whole firm is miserable, except for the head honchos, and if you look at the attrition rate. of the firm, you'd be shocked.

Pros

The people and the culture. I come from a larger bank, and the tight-knit community and strong culture is unparalleled. The firm also operates on a much more horizontal structure, which gives you more access and more responsibility earlier on, which really helps you develop your career proactively.

Cons

As a boutique, PJ Solomon doesn't have all the resources you might find at a larger bank (e.g. no production or research team)

Pros

It was a good learning experience and job opportunities post analyst role are good - places well into buyside, grad school, lateral to other bank, etc. Decent work/life balance for an IBD analyst. Good collegial culture among the junior bankers.

Cons

General disregard for analyst time/plans but it's banking what do you expect. Analysts potentially do a lot of administrative work.
