Pros

The company allows a lot of latitude with regards to responsibility. Direct access to executive board and relaxed office atmosphere.

Cons

Face time in the work place take precedent over productivity with regards to view of employee performance. Don't expect to have the latest and greatest access to software/ tech, as the company utilizes the most basic tools to get the job done.

Pros

Hours are manageable. As a young individual who likes to dive into many different extracurricular activities, I enjoy not having to work 10 hour plus days to focus on other endeavors of life. While you may have some long work days to get the project done on time, most of the time work days can be very manageable which is far from the industry standard. They also do their diligence to make sure projects stay in the area you prefer. You won't be traveling to different cities if it's something you are not comfortable with. You are also rarely without work, projects are always being bid and forthcoming. One of the few big general contractors with a small family feel.

Cons

They are far behind the curveball in terms of implementing technology to keep up with today's pace of general contractors. As we all know, technology is only becoming more advanced and is the future of many industries in todays work force, including construction. The leading general contractors are those that recognize this. I found myself using outdated software and even laptops to get my work done. Utilizing paper copies instead of electronic. Not mention their database was always getting hacked. Not too much career growth. If you want to climb up the company ladder you need to be proactive. While there were some smart individuals I found myself working on my own without a lot of guidance or mentorship. Personal Opinion: A lot of effort is made to retain older talent or even bring back retired employees. Not enough effort to keep younger employees who without doubt would lead the company into the future.
