Pros

There were some intelligent employees who were fun working with.

Cons

Management was disorganized and untrustworthy. They frequently shifted strategies and priorities without clear communication, often blaming junior employees for poor results while failing to provide the support or direction needed for success. Transparency was lacking, and accountability only seemed to apply to those at the bottom. Work-life balance was virtually nonexistent. Despite the long hours and significant effort, outcomes were consistently underwhelming due to poor resource allocation and mismanagement. Individuals with little relevant experience or demonstrated competence were placed in leadership roles, further exacerbating the dysfunction. The workplace culture was toxic, gaslighting was common, and gossip became a coping mechanism for many just to get through the day. Communication breakdowns and psychological strain were the norm. This was, without question, the most negative professional experience I’ve had. I’m extremely relieved to have moved on. P.S. Be skeptical of recent overly positive reviews. They appear to be part of a reputation management effort rather than genuine reflections of employee experience.

Pros

Big emphasis on working safely and strictly following procedures. Top-notch training, clear protocols, and reliable processes, which gives you confidence and security. Culture that promotes doing things right the first time.

Cons

The strict procedures sometimes slow the work down.

Lies and Letdowns

Pros

Hired some of the best and brightest individuals in the industry. Were able to attract top talent with big $$$.

Cons

Toxic culture is an understatement. Everyone is working against one another, hoping for failure. Gossip is rampant. Founders are lying at least 75% of the time. Nobody at the company believes in the founders or the mission, the ones that are left are just collecting a nice pay check riding it out until the eventual end. There is nothing sustainable about this company. There is no biotechnology in their products. They are not a climate company. It's a big scam. Avoid.

Pros

None, as far I'm concerned.

Cons

There are too many problems here at Solugen, and I assure you that there's nothing worth joining this company for. This company provides one of the worst pays in the industry, and the company benefits here are also horrible and lackluster. Aside from the awful compensation, the culture here is also toxic and filled with negativity.

Do Not Join Solugen. It's a Scam.

Pros

Competitive salary Good place for smart young to move up fast to the top if you are favored by co-founders.

Cons

On 11/5/24, Solugen cut one third of their workforce due to their financial outlook at risk. It's not a stable company to join. I highly discourage anyone considering joining Solugen. If you do join, you will find yourself to get asked to be up and running from the get-go without any proper training with the pressure to lose job otherwise. Even if you work hard by sacrificing your personal life and produce amazing outcome, you won't get recognition, unless you are favored by the co-founders, or other people will take credit for the great work you did. Even if you are good, the chance is very high you will most likely end up exiting Solugen due to the toxic culture or layoff. After you leave, they will manipulate people's mind and say that the reason for layoff was due to performance, not because of company's financial situation. This has been repeating multiple times over the years. They keep emphasizing company still has money in the bank, which seems very suspicious why they keep bringing that up. It makes people think they might actually not have enough money left in the bank account, so they had to let people go, then blaming on people's performance to cover up their unstable financial situation. Toxic & aggressive work culture. No work life balance. Favoritism is prevail. They exploit employees - Extremely Heavy workload, emphasis on high speed. No appreciation nor recognition on the hard work people do. Broken communication, silos, missing information in transit due to the emphasis on high speed. People are told to execute tasks at fast pace without much context provided. Due to the emphasis on fast speed, people don't have enough time to explain things to the person who will execute. Often important details and background info are missing in transit. As the result, it often leads to misaligned outcome and re-work.
