Horrible work environment

Pros

Beautiful office, cute bathroom, and nice kitchen. That is it for the pros. Management and processes have nothing that I can mention as a positive.

Cons

Dog eat dog environment, enormous micromanagement by CEO and his Mini-Me, extremely long hours - you work 8:30 to 6 as regular and asked to do more. Asked for impossible deadlines so you are effectively working at least 60 hrs per week. Salary is low. Run!

Pros

None whatsoever. Possibly the employee discount, but that wouldn't even come close to making up for the borderline illegal treatment you receive.

Cons

- Highly exploitative - Founder would threaten to fire people - Full of unpaid interns that did the work paid employees should have been doing - The founder got by on as little resources as possible, but expected the maximum benefit, and would go on a rampage if his unrealistic expectations weren't met. This resulted in people being spread too thin, by trying to do too much, and then not accomplishing anything from diluting their focus. - The Founder often came up with pointless ideas to do things that didn't contribute to the bottom line, which was to make money, so you would end up wasting a lot of time. - Many people (both paid and unpaid) never came back after their first day or two, or even after weeks (HR person). -The typical workday was from 8:30am-6pm with a 30-minute lunch (9hr day), which would have been fine if there was some ounce of effort for employee retention, but there was no morale. - The founder had absolutely no respect for anyone's time. I waited an hour for him for my second interview and routinely saw him make other candidates wait the same amount of time. Not a single meeting ever started at the right time, or even the right day, and would ALWAYS go over.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I am sorry to hear you had a negative experience as part of our team. We are definitely working on creating a fun, and positive work environment. We do tend to work some long days, but we have a lot of people in who really go the extra mile, and as you know we are still small company looking to grow. I am sorry to hear you had a bad impression of the CEO. Unfortunately, like many CEOs he is very booked, and sometimes his time has to be divided or rescheduled. I am not sure about your personal experience, but the CEO does not threaten to fire people unless there is just cause, and it is only discussed in confidence with pertaining HR or Managers. We are lucky to have several smart, and bright interns at our Head Office, but majority are paid, and the unpaid ones are strictly for educational purposes, and are not in replacement of an actual position. Employee retention is very important to us, and I appreciate your feedback on some areas where we need improvement. We are always looking for ways to make this a great place to work.

Pros

Nothing because there isn’t any

Cons

The ceo, - does not respect employees, treats them terribly - puts employees down - he thinks everyone is stupid whereas he is the smartest person alive - if we suggests ideas and it gets ignored, but blames us for not making any improvements - thinks his ideas are the best and that it will be a million dollar idea but people have already been doing Qr code for years and just recently this year say Qr codes are the best He does not think what the consumers wants and needs, he thinks about what will be the best for his own profit which makes sense but it does not work like that all since he does not make profit out of the ideas he has in the end he puts the blame onto the employees again. He doesn’t think about process and how it takes time to get results. He wants all employees to be loyal to him but he does not show or even appreciate us at all. He is bias to all new people, he loves them for the first few months and slowly dislike them and try to find new people to replace them if they do not show any results to making the company better/or making more money. And many employees do try to make the company better but their ideas and plans always gets turned down because they always think their ideas are better then ours and dismiss ours. The employees slowly does not want to do anything anymore as there is no more motivation to work hard since they do not appreciate our work at all. Also expects employees to do everyone’s job on bare minimum pay. In the end, he is a terrible CEO, does not know what he is doing and expects to make millions. Please that’s not how it works. Treat your employees better and make them feel like working there rather then making them leaving every few months. He should really have a reality check because nothing is working so he needs a wake up call to make his company better. All your employees are trying to make this company bette but you make them feel terrible and not letting them use their skills to make this a great company. Such shame. - work for like 9 hours everyday 8:30-5:30 - Half an hour lunch ONLY no breaks - Very strict environment - Drama - Makes employees work stat days - Does not appreciate employees- will make you work full days on Christmas Eve/New Years eve - Low pay - Not worth working here - Disorganized company - What is process? - What am I really doing here - Is there a future here? No there is not! - You cannot go anywhere here.
