Hard pressed to find more honest work
Pros
In the age of COVID-19, we learned firsthand what things are truly essential in 2020. As part of the food supply chain, our jobs at Southeast Milk were critical in getting people the milk, ice cream, cheese, & other dairy products they love so much. In my tenure with the cooperative, I've had the distinguished honor of getting to know & serve our farmer-owners. They work tirelessly to produce nature's most perfect food. We help them get it to the consumer. Knowing "why" I do what I do makes my career that much more rewarding. I'm truly honored to work for the benefit of SMI's dairy farm families.
Cons
The hours can be challenging at times. Cows don't take time off from making milk. We must make sure it gets picked up and delivered to a home, even on holidays. The company also runs lean so you'll have to remain flexible. Everyone tends to wear many different hats - but the positive is you can always find a new challenge!
