Low pay and broken promises with law blindness

It is a 985 univeristy! It screws everyone equally!
Cons
First, as a Chinese University, it has the same tricks as the others: promise you a lot, but once entered, they will tell you everything need a grant. For example, they maybe promise you will get 350k CNY salary, but tell you need to apply their faculty postdoc (prep 10 first author papers please) or a state gov grant. Also, there is no university project funding unless your boss plan to give you. Second, the salary is low, About 150k CNY basic wage, 20k stipend and 30k housing stipend. However, they often owe the stipend without reason. If you ask for the payment, they will "IMPLY" you it is not good. Ask around, there is no other univeristy in Nanjing conducts like this. Third, the professors have heavy duties: only top tier papers can progress their career, they remove majority JCR Q1 in 2026. Meanwhile, they have tons of graduate student to mentor, and at least one big course each semester. Also, every year need a grant. So, if you are considering to enter as a professor, I wont recommend this university, dont choose it just because it is a 985 university.
