Pros

Great students, wonderful colleagues, nice campus, mission-focus

Cons

Leadership is making hundreds of thousands of dollars while laying people off EVP gets a kick out of conflict and firing people Faculty is battling against leadership's bad reputation in the community Continuously hiring more VPs because leaders aren't doing the work they're being paid to do Low pay for everyone else Faculty and deans are powerless Organizational focus is more on flash than substance

DO NOT WORK HERE

Pros

- You will end up gaining more experience because of how much work you will be doing for other departments. - Flexibility

Cons

The financial stewardship of the University is horrendous. Google their Form 990 and review where all the money is going. They let go (do not renew 1 year contracts) of ALL employees who question how they steward their finances. There has been recent history of embezzlement from executive board and the same people are on the board with the exception of the individual who took the fall.

SEU pays poorly

Pros

Great company values and opportunities for personal growth through tuition reimbursement.

Cons

The pay is very low and there is an atmosphere of competition and rivalry between departments. Upper management and the leadership team do not present themselves very professionally and can tend to come off as arrogant. People are mainly hired due to relationships rather than who is professionally fit and experienced enough for the job.
