Pros

830-430 work schedule with 1 hour for lunch leads to good work life balance if you do not have to commute from far away.

Cons

Very low pay. Executive director not approachable - rules by fear/threat, no one feels able to approach her - she is not well liked by staff. Male management appears to be paid better than women. Few benefits. Healthcare plan does not provide great coverage and has high deductibles. Arbitrary decision making and spending on foolish things. Upper management is very well paid but is cutting everyone else's pay. Offices are overcrowded, dirty and toilets are shared by clients making them even dirtier Employees need a union

Pros

The place I worked I had an AWESOME supervisor. Health plan was good (I was not on a family plan though).

Cons

Higher management were extremely old school and appeared unwilling to change. It seemed like one really had to "suck up" to the uppers in order to get respected. YOU HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR TO TAKE ONE VACATION DAY. Working with the clientele SNHS targets, this is complete insanity! Uppers should look at this for being a reason for why people do not stay long: if you treat your employees like humans and not overworked animals they might actually want to stay. Full time was less than 40 hours and pay wasn't great.

Pros

Fantastic Services. Employees who actually work with the customers are compassionate, caring people who truly want to help and go out of their way to do so.

Cons

Management unnecessarily makes the job of the fieldworker extremely difficult because they typically forget to serve the customer and the teams they have employed in favor of serving their own politics, agendas, and careers. The reason the burn-out rate in Human Services is so short/high is not because of the population served, but the mismanagement and utter lack of intelligent, compassionate, team-oriented leadership in higher level positions.
