Pros
Some areas of the hospital, especially patient facing are safe. Others are not. Family environment if you can fit in with the older religious crowd.
Cons
If you're a newcomer and just come to work to do your job, it's hard to find colleagues who will treat you warmly. Areas of the hospital separate from patients can be harsh if you are not interested in being part of a clique and just want to work efficiently. Sexual harassment is a real big issue the hospital refuses to acknowledge and HR does not keep complaints confidential. I have received the same stories from multiple people- they were harassed, made a report, the complaint spread around and colleagues bullied them- and then Hr urged them to drop the complaint. The hospital does not want that on their record and would rather have you bullied out and the whole ordeal to disappear with you. Meanwhile, the offenders still work and are free to continue their harassment. That's dangerous. So many laws broken and nothing to be done because if you complain, your career is ruined and that spreads through the medical network.
