Pros

Nice people. They are dog-open for the right dogs owned by the right people. There is corporate funded lunch available from time to time. Creative team is amazing (but overworked).

Cons

Not a family friendly company. Management is old boys network - the money doesn't shake down. Many hard working staffers are just scraping by with gov't assistance while owners drive multiple Porshes, etc. They are also big on looks and pretty sexist. Don't have children, ladies, if you want to be kept or to advance. Benefits are abysmal, no 401k matching, enforced furloughs in recent years, no bonuses. Graphics department works nonstop. Travel for account teams is insane.

Management is The Problem

Pros

I loved my coworkers! Made some of the best friends I have ever made in my life working at sparks, they made this job worth it and I enjoyed coming into work every day because of them. The other designers were smart, fun, and overall amazing. The clients and projects were great to work, engaging, and challenging. Everyone of the designers were talented and fun to work with. Overall I enjoyed coming to work because of my coworkers.

Cons

There is no work life balance here they work you without respect to your personal life: days, nights, through the weekend, through holidays, it doesn't matter they expect it. I once thought this was one of the best jobs I have ever had, but now after multiple experiences with the management I have disappointing and sad memories of this place. The inappropriate things that were said to me I have never experienced in my entire career. I am not surprised anymore what people in powerful positions can say to young women in lower positions. I was looking for a leader and a mentor in my career and what I found was disturbing. I would be cautious of the Sparks and the management here. The management is terrible, has favoritism, the leaders are insecure, lack empathy, the of lack respect towards anyone is astonishing, and the personal issues that they take out on their own employees is unfair. I loved my job at Sparks because of the friends I made there and it is a tragedy that the current leadership has destroyed the awesome culture that once was there and ultimately made me change my outlook on this company.

Pros

The agency works with top brands, which is great experience for someone looking to work closely with high profile clients.

Cons

They throw you in the deep end from day one. No mentoring, and the expectation is that you will be on call/email 24/7. If you're against that work mentality going in, you will not last long.
