      Non profit run like a corporation without the benefit of a corporate salary.

      Pros

      Good job stability. Organization has been around a long time and is financially stable with funding. Always hiring.

      Cons

      Horrible benefits - Horrible salaries It is not the worst place to work and many of the programs do good work but there is little room for advancement and in general the environment is stale and offers little to no room for creative or intellectual growth as an employee.

      Promotions based on friendship to management and nothing else

      The cleaning staff is very good at keeping the building tidy.

      Cons

      Hostile work environment. Management has favorites and they don't care who knows. They pay next to nothing. Wage increases are also based on who you are instead of your quality or commitment to work. Lots of personal friends and family of senior management staff is hired and they are paid double the salary of someone who answered a job posting without a reference. Don't follow their own program rules. Management would fire or discipline their subordinates in oder to hide their incompetence or significant their mistakes. Work load is unfairly distributed to a ridiculous degree.
