Pros

Some decent co-workers, with one or two exceptions. Meet lots of great people (PATRONS). Decent starting Pay, for food service industry.

Cons

HIRED AS FULL TIME- NEVER GOT MORE THAN 20 HOURS A WEEK! SERVERS GIVE LOUSY TIP OUTS TO SERVICE BAR! Bartenders are treated like a lower life form. I, for one, am no ones SLAVE. Busted my butt during these cruises, making THOUSANDS of dollars worth of cocktails, throughout SOMETIMES two cruises per day, only to be tipped out $3.00-5.00 apiece from 4 SERVERS! I KNOW my drinks were good, as was my service, because when I worked independently of the servers I would make anywhere between 120.00 and 200.00 a cruise! also, some servers were so inept that their patrons would give up waiting for them and approach me directly ALWAYS leaving a tip! Multiple complaints to supervisors were IGNORED. The list of cons goes on... Was terminated after manager accused me of stealing a SHOT OF LIQUOR that a patron had purchased for me, but I was not, per their policy, allowed to drink with the customer. Had the manager taken time to check my POS, like he did the video that showed me POURING the shot he would have seen that I rang up each and every shot... and that all I was doing was taking something that was bought for me, to an upper deck.

I am happy to hear you enjoyed your fellow shipmates and our great guests, however I do apologize that your overall experience with us was not great. As stated in our employee handbook, drinking on the job is not acceptable. Thank you for your feedback and we will continue to improve our shipmate work environment. -Dan Leaman, General Manager Mid-Atlantic Region

Pros

Nice coworkers, free shift meal, nice environment. Monthly employee party, very simple job duties. If you like being on the water it's a fun place to work. This review is half cocked as I just wanted to unlock my profile.

Cons

Off season is very slow, you receive bi-weekly pay so it is hard for commuters. Very unaccommodating management, no breaks, little growth potential. Physically

I am sorry it did not work out for you during the slow season, we will work better to communicate cruise schedule with our current shipmates. Thank you for the review. -Dan Leaman, General Manager Mid-Atlantic Region
