Pros

Updated equipment everything was brand new.

Cons

A lot of favoritism between employees, get fired on the spot for something you were not trained on, no training but expected to know what to do. PPX gets paid more then assistants.

Pros

High pay and great recruitment tactics

Cons

Everything about my time with Sploot was chaotic Onboarding at corporate was well organized, but past the first 24 hours, the mismanagement was blatantly obvious. It took several months to get access to company benefits. I never worked with my medical director at a newly opened clinic. Doctors are micromanaged (to patients’ detriment) by people with no medical background or education. Everything about this place is unprofessional, meant to pump profits (shrouded in “patient care”), and actively avoids accountability for how medical staff is treated. Scheduling for doctors is ridiculously inconsistent and time off rules changed drastically.

Pros

Discounts on vet care for your pets (vaccines, bloodwork, exams, surgery, imaging, cold laser therapy). Coworkers are good people.

Cons

You have to be part of the problem by charging people hundreds/thousands of dollars for vet care. despite saying there’s “no hierarchy”, there clearly is and management is uncaring, ableist, and more focused on profits than care. very hard to get accommodations and disabled/neurodivergent people are discriminated against/fired easily. despite all the marketing around a “stress-free vet experience”, nothing is actually done to help dogs with behavior needs other than having a treat bar full of stale, low-value treats. As ppx you don’t get set hours or even get to stay at one location consistently so you’re constantly dysregulated and having to relearn everything. The target demographic is frenchies, doodles, and their rich white owners. There is not even an attempt to be more inclusive by hiring bilingual employees (and paying them more) or doing literally anything. Ppx takes the blame for anything that goes wrong despite being paid the least and having to juggle 8 million tasks. There’s no WFH option despite having a call center, so instead you have to go to a cramped we-work office for no reason at all.
