Pros

- You get to wear many hats and learn the ropes. - Young work environment. Everyone is relatively a recent graduate.

Cons

- Salary and benefits are subpar with the industry. - Poor work-life balance. It is common to work long hours and be stressed often. It isn't until you leave the company and work at a different company that you realize how stressed and pressured you were. - There isn't much room to grow. - They claim you can "be your own CEO", but there is a lot of micro-managing. - There is no appreciation or flexibility for new ideas. - Very penny-pinching when it comes to spending money improving the culture and work environment of the company. - Lagging behind in terms of technology. - Lacking diversity and inclusion. - Claim to have unlimited vacation, but managers will complain about it even if you don't take excessively amount of days off.

Pros

Energetic employees and leadership, eager to push forward new ideas and explore how to make SR technology and resources more accessible. Athlete-mentality, "teamwork makes the dream work" approach.

Cons

Tough market, small company with few resources to actually grow. Often, employees are tasked to oversee and manage with way more than their bandwidth/job title actually affords them. It's still very much a start-up with standard start-up growing pains even 10+ years out. A lot of opportunity to learn and challenge yourself, but also a space to very easily burnout quick.

Pros

Inclusive team that is easy to work with and grants you a good deal of agency over your work. The engineers passionate and curious. They work with the newest technologies and have weekly meetings where team members can present new tools or techniques they've learned. The company is small enough that your all your work goes into the app. That is, you can see the results of it right away. There's a strong company culture—from occasional happy hours to work trips—and everyone wants to see each other succeed. They're fond of using sports metaphors, and working there, it genuinely feels like you're part of a team.

Cons

Only main con is that the pay is below industry standard. Neutral: It is a sports company, so the culture tends toward the bro-ish side. By bro-ish, however, I don't mean toxic masculinity, just that the employees like to discuss sports and have cold ones with the fellas. It's a very welcoming, team-like environment, and if you're into sports and can negotiate a better salary, this would be a dream job.
