Before the merger, the company had a good culture and some genuinely talented people. However, everything changed once the SolarWinds merger began. Employees were repeatedly promised appraisals and rewards for their patience — none of which ever happened. Leadership made big claims about post-merger bonuses and promotions, but those promises turned out to be completely false.
For the past three years, employees were heavily incentivized with ESOPs to make the packages look attractive. We were told that the ESOP values would double, only to have that promise reduced to face value a few months before the merger. Then, a month prior to closing, we were informed that no ESOPs would be granted at all.
Just weeks before the merger, management pushed through all pending promotions — only to lay off half the workforce immediately afterward. The remaining employees were pressured to resign with vague assurances of short-term contract roles “until suitable positions opened up,” which, of course, never materialized.
As the final days approached, the CEO completely vanished — no communication, no accountability, no closure.
I genuinely feel bad for anyone who joins this company in the future. What the leadership managed to pull off was not just unprofessional — it was unethical and deeply disappointing. They showed a complete lack of care for the people who helped build the company and believed in their promises for years.
