Pros

There's an on-site cafe where you can go for a bitter cup of coffee in an effort to escape the office toxicity and stress provided by upper management who do nothing but browse Pinterest, order personal chef lunches and delegate all the work to the mid and entry level associates. .You'll work with a little pod of 1-2 other employees that you get to trauma-bond with during your 10/12 hour work day (a pod of underpaid and undervalued group of millennials they hire to take advantage of).

Cons

Dream of working for a company that promotes gossip, finger pointing and secrets? Want to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown multiple times during the week? What about sexual harassment, body shaming and blatant racism?? Want to be taken advantage of, underpaid and expected to be present in the office during a global pandemic?? Look not further than St. John Knits! Where HR is useless, your managers try to get you fired and the company spends more money flying the copy cat creative team around Europe in a global pandemic while firing dozens of their dedicated, hard-working employees.

Pros

There weren't a whole lot, mostly the (former) prestige of this company was kind of nice. They occasionally did nice things like flowers on Mother's Day. Overall the company was pretty devoid of anything redeeming. Coworkers were occasionally nice?

Cons

I came to St John foolishly thinking I could craft my career there. Unfortunately I quickly realized 90% of the staff were "lifers". Meaning they rarely let knew people establish themselves and more often let them go. Their was a really weird atmosphere to this place, one of distrust and fear. I didn't really understand it fully until I noticed how rapidly they would lay people off at the drop of the hat and not even acknowledge it. Completely unfair system as management is salaried but the average employee isn't. Countless times as an hourly employee I was inconvenienced by the salaried staffs coming and going as they pleased. Inconvenienced in that I was late to my lunch (my fault and a bad mark against me) or not given enough time to complete a project (cause no over time ever) there's tons of pointless processes and red tape everywhere you turn, the only justifiable reason is so these old timers can justify their jobs.

Pros

It's great luxury retail experience, and they really focus on training and product knowledge for every collection. The software they use to clientele is top notch. It makes it easier to keep track of clients and their needs. Plus, you get an allotment and can get some really great pieces at a great price. I love the new design direction they are going. It is not as matronly.

Cons

They do not appreciate their employees. It's a reason the turn over rate is high. Their is no room to grow. Managers are all from outside the company. They like to use the carrot dangling tactic and will use you until they hire management.
