Pros

- Friendly atmosphere on the whole - Good company events. - Great CSR - Director level approachable personalities. Could be more aware of personalities and be seen to leading from the trenches on culture.

Cons

- Some members of the training team will decide whether they like you or not quite quickly. If you fall under the latter they will make you feel unwelcome. - Senior Consultants having a large ego and refusing to assist. Will instead joke about you behind your back but loud enough for you to hear and feel embarrassed. - Won't allow you to have a discussion if something you have done is perceived wrong. Judgement made and delivered prior to having your say. - Diversity and inclusion lessons on their terms. No open discussion.

Thanks for the feedback. As you know, we strive to create a supportive environment for our people to fulfil their potential and clearly your experience was a long way from that description. Although sadly you were with the business for only a short time, I want to thank you for your hard work and wish you all the best in your career.

Pros

Office space is nice and central

Cons

The leadership team lacks leadership qualities and strategic direction. They make rash business decisions based on little evidence and communications across the company of key business decisions are miscommunicated and misinformed. Unfortunately most of the board of directors are men who knew each other from previous business endeavours and this has undoubtedly created a boys club mentality, causing women at the company to leave in their droves this year. In addition there is no support for employees who wish to talk about these issues as HR is non existent and the people team feel the need to share all conversations you've had with them with anyone who will listen.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns about our Company on Glassdoor. We take all feedback seriously and value the opportunity to learn and improve. I am deeply disheartened to hear about your experience and concerns regarding our leadership team and strategic direction. We have had to make many very difficult decisions this year, so want to support the exceptional people who work at Stanton House in every way that we can. From your feedback, it’s clear that some of these decisions, and the rationale for them, need to be communicated more clearly. This year we have created many strategic groups to give individuals from across the business the opportunity to contribute to strategy and to have a voice in decision-making. We will continue to do more. Your points on gender diversity are difficult to read. I believe that, whilst we still have so much to do (and we do have a gender imbalance in our senior team), we are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Your feedback remains vital, and we will continue to take proactive measures to ensure that all employees, regardless of their gender, feel valued and supported. Last year we launched our Women in Stanton House (WISH) Forum, which was intended as a safe place for women in the business to support one another and break down gender bias. I will ensure that this remains a positive platform for bringing about change and equality within our business. Regarding your comments on our HR team, we always endeavor to treat all issues raised with our HR team with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, and will look into this matter. We are dedicated to listening to feedback from our employees and ensuring that performance expectations are clear, transparent and understood, so we will continue to improve and address the issues you raise around this. Your unhappy experience of working for Stanton House is regrettable, but we are genuinely committed to doing the right thing by all our people. We must continue to improve, and your feedback is important in helping make us a better business. Neil Wilson, CEO, Stanton House

It was not easy to read this review and learn of what was clearly a poor employee experience with us. We try really hard to be far more than an average recruitment business but I fully respect that in your experience we failed. This sort of direct and critical feedback fuels our efforts to do better. Thank-you for taking the time to share it and I wish you every success in your future career. Nick Eaves Founder and Chief Customer Officer
