Pros

fun events and conferences organized

Cons

- the HR was friends with the manager and was giving bogus evaluations, wrong ROE and claims without following HR practices. - lots of overtime with no extra pay - managers don't know what they have to manage and don't use proper project management tools - pushing extra responsibilities with no extra pay - Traffic Management wants you to miss-represent your hours so you don't get paid more

Pros

travelling opportunities with the events team

Cons

Lots and lots of politics which doesn't create a good environment. They created a hierarchy of ambiguous ranks and levels, something like a serious management consulting company would properly use, not a marketing agency. The only people I've seen advance or move up the ranks were friends with their boss. Very few people are true professional at what they do. Only 2-3 people do real design and development work, then there is this whole clump of VPs/Managing Consultants/Strategic Consultants/Consultants who have to manage and coordinate things they don't know how they work. Starshot also used to send this long propaganda emails with philosophical references but everything was portrayed exactly opposite of reality.

Starshot: Worst. Company. Ever. Should be zero stars.

Pros

Decent pay, and Brad will promise anything to get you on board - flexible schedule, work from home, easy to take vacation, great work environment - the positives sounds endless. But it's all BS, bait and switch.

Cons

Easily the worst job I've ever had: - Role was not as promised - Benefits not as promised - Duties changed significantly for the worse within a few months of joining the company - Zero training - Zero team building - Zero leadership - Zero accountability, especially within management. - Zero collaboration or positive interaction. - Zero creativity - it's all farmed out to freelancers. - High levels of micromanagement, bullying and backstabbing - working here felt like a fraternity hazing exercise. - Terrible projects - boring, pointless, lame. Starshot doesn't say no to anything - this is the bottom of the barrel, the worst projects possible in the worst environment possible. - Overall, staff is very green and inexperienced. Not sure how anyone would advance, and there are no guidelines or mentoring provided towards how to promote. - Very high turnover. Virtually everyone is brand new. The few people who have been there more than a year or two (only 3 or 4 out of 35 employees?) were still doing the same job as when they started. During my time there, multiple people were let go - never heard of anyone being promoted.

I can't promise that Starshot will be for everyone and unfortunately when things don't work out this can lead to negative feelings. I do hope that you found employment suitable for what you require. Best of luck.
