Pros

Culture is laid back and fun. Sometimes you get lunch and snacks.

Cons

While the company constantly makes big promises, they do not follow through. They cover up the lack of acceptable pay with "free lunches & snacks" but in reality, you will barely be paid over minimum wage (you won't even get cost of living increases). At the same time, you will put years of your time into the company, only to receive an insulting raise of less than $0.50. Meanwhile, VP's and upper management make HUGE decisions that result in massive layoffs only to never be held accountable. I would not recommend this company to any of my friends who are looking to develop a career. Stay Alfred is full of false promises and overpaid management.

Not as it seems

Pros

There can be some fun and exciting moments. Some really fun and great people work here.

Cons

Over a year in and rose bloom is coming off. Over the past 6 months, the company fired dozens of employees in the field very unceremoniously then gave a very insincere explanation to us. I know for a fact they've cut salaries for people in the field by large amounts who live in very expensive cities thereby forcing them to find work elsewhere. Managment claims we blowing up, but make incredibly short sighted and baffeling decisions. They are pretending they are a start up... but they arent. This place is like 10 years old... which seems like a serious excuse to supress wages, administer terrible insurance and of course cut salaries. The free lunches and booze at work is nice, but the company is unorganized and I have lost the feeling of security and innovation this company once inspired. I hate to say it but it's not the same place I agreed to work. It's not a soulless corporation, but it's quickly headed in the direction of being just another place to work that keeps wages low, offers subpar benefits all with the hope that we'll forgive it all because we can have a beer at work once in a while. I hope we circle back to what we once were soon.

Stay Alfred Response

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your open and honest feedback. I’m sorry you feel the explanation for the layoffs last year wasn’t communicated with more clarity. We held a company-wide “town hall” style meeting with our CEO Jordan to make sure any outstanding questions were addressed and so no one would feel like they didn’t have adequate information, but we understand people have different communication expectations The salary changes in the cities were unfortunately necessary based on projections for those cities and changes to inventory. No pay decrease decision is ever taken lightly, but it was necessary for the company; we are working as a team to better-project for the future. Regarding insurance benefits, please know we understand Stay Alfred employs hard workers with families across the country - we strive to improve benefits year after year and create competitive incentives that improve that work/life balance. As you know, after 8 years in business we’re experiencing tremendous growth as a company, but culture and employee satisfaction and happiness is still a top priority. Please know this post has been escalated and shared with the HR and senior leadership, and we appreciate your candid feedback. Best, Randie Douse, People & Culture Manager

Smoke and Mirrors

Pros

Stay Alfred sold me a dream when I first started. I was looking forward to going to work everyday, helping build into that dream. The culture was a selling point for me! The passion driven team was enough to get me going above and beyond.

Cons

Stay Alfred no longer values the employees. There is not a healthy balance of work/life balance. With so many layoffs, the employees are walking on eggshells and the relation between one another has gone down hill. When once it was believed that everyone was playing for the same team, but now it is a war zone. The CEO does not care if his decisions affects his soldiers. We are all expendable! I looked up to this man in every way possible. I believed in his dream and agenda. I supported it him and the company. However , there is no support of the employees. Instead people are being let go and told they would get fired for questioning the CEO! We are out in the field lying to our partners and I can not continue to lie about a product. I no longer see the vision clearly. I wonder if it was real in the first place or was it just smoke and mirrors. Not the place to work. You will be highly undervalued. There are multiple changes everyday and management plays by the ear, not by system and procedures. During every company announcement, we are all just crossing our fingers that we are not receiving another round of layoffs. Very nerve wrecking!
