Pros

There are some genuinely nice people that work here. There are working bathrooms. Some truly cute products as well and some lovely customers.

Cons

The owners are the least gracious business people I have ever met. People are treated differently depending on where they work and if they fit into the office clique. This business seems to constantly downsize, and expect remaining employees to pick up the extra work with no pay increase.

Warehouse employees that need a pay increase to in order to step up in a time of need are missing the point of "time of need".

Pros

This company provides amazing opportunities for every employee. It's stripped down of any hierarchy, and allows smart and aggressive employees the opportunity to make a real difference at the company. The hands-on experience of every aspect of a thriving ecommerce company is priceless. You never feel boxed into one job, for those that love to learn this company allows you to wear multiple hats. The family-run culture is comfortable and accommodating. It's customer base is loyal, authentic, and engaged. Management allows for complete autonomy, and the learning opportunities are endless. Steals requires and deserves only employees who are self-starters, passionate, not afraid of a challenge, and driven to grow the business. I'm lucky to have had that opportunity.

Cons

The competition in the ecommerce industry continues to get harder and harder. Small businesses used to thrive in the time when social media was free, organic traffic was plentiful, and word of mouth meant something. This makes it a challenging work environment for your standard employee. It requires passion, creative vision, and audacity to buck the current industry trends that Steals is facing.

Pros

Engaged employees and owners. The company is invested in technology and customer service.

Cons

The company doesn't focus enough on employee health and potential. They say they want people to succeed, but don't trust them to be self-directed. Cliques within the company make some people feel like outsiders at work.

In all honesty, I would argue that we are too self-directed and often don't provide enough training. This is a very fast paced, sink or swim environment that relies heavily on individual contribution. We have many employees that have been here 5+ years that know each other very well, but I wouldn't consider that a clique. The employees at Steal Network are some of the most open and welcoming people on the planet. I have never witnessed anyone be treated like an outsider. We occasionally have drinks in meetings to celebrate milestones or individual contributions. We do not have a traditional corporate environment and I'm happy that our team has fun together after a long days work. I think this reviewer is mistaking ego with confidence because we have an excellent track record of treating everyone with respect.
