Pros

- Health insurance benefits. - Provide equipment to work. - Flexible schedule when I was in school. - Sometimes fun to be there. - Vacation time was paid off. - Lot of paid holidays. - Free snacks.

Cons

- Old Mac that had some issues. - Payment was not good. - Some of the staff members such as the owner's son thought he was superior to everyone. - Low possibility to grow due to family owned business some people that I worked with was there for years and in the same place. - Staff member such as Project manager will slack it all the time just watching youtube videos and will take credit for everything. - Parking is not good.

Pros

Steele truly cares about its employees on a human level. They host many events to thank their developers like company BBQs, happy hours, holiday parties, and team outings. Unlimited sick time, very generous with mental health days. Can work remotely if you choose to. There are a lot of opportunities to grow as a developer and earn higher roles within the company.

Cons

The ceiling is not too high, you can only grow so much here. Post-covid, Steele has downsized a lot. Pay is not competitive and raises don't come easily. Insurance and benefits could be a lot better. The office space is very limited and the company's equipment is outdated. It's likely you'll be working on very outdated systems at Steele as well, which is frustrating for devs who want to get their hands on new technology. Steele is basically a place for devs who want a jump start on their career. If you stay too long, you will be frustrated at their lack of effort in keeping you around.
