Pros

Some really brilliant people at junior levels that produce top-quality work. Offices have been renovated and accomodating. Happy Hours.

Cons

This agency has a plethora of cons, but I'll begin with the most prominent: there is no HR team - just one person who oftentimes conducts themselves in a very un-HR manner. When any issues are brought up to "HR", such as the way leadership treats those beneath them, nothing was ever done in my time there. It seems that those that do a great job are not truly valued or rewarded, this is part of the reason why the turnover rate is SO high (just like the other reviews mention). During my time there, I was cursed at, utilized as the token minority hire, and told that I was at fault for any issues I brought up. Should new hires venture into this agency, God bless, but also I would strongly advise that all promises made during the hiring process be included within your contract or they will not come to fruition.

Pros

Absolutely zero pros about working here other than the fact that I left.

Cons

I will try and keep this as professional as possible, but this is by far the worst company I have ever worked for in my entire life, including trivial jobs as a teenager. On the surface, the company seems great, inclusive, and like it is a dream job. Unfortunately, I learned that it was quite the opposite. I was never trained and worked there for about half a year. I would constantly be asking my boss if there was anything I could do, and he would never give me any assignments, or he would give me something that took literally 5 minutes to do. They flaunt work life balance in the interviews, but will expect you to stay late and give work assignments minutes before leaving. Not only that, there are mandatory after work functions constantly. Besides the poor work environment, I was constantly belittled by my boss, and nitpicked every single thing I did down to my handwriting not being up to their standard. They would constantly find things wrong with what I did, yet they were busy putting off their work to take long lunches and lost multiple accounts in the short duration I was there, due to the lack of effort put in. I remember having business meetings, and they would be completely unprepared, have no notes to give the companies we were working with, or literally any updates on what they asked us to do, because they were never working on it. The HR seems very useful until you find out that it is a game of favorites, and they will protect their higher ups for poor performance and blame new hires for the mistakes. So, even if you are feeling mistreated, there is literally nowhere you can go in the company to seek help. I will forever turn anyone away from this company to save them from the nightmare treatment I receive that still haunts me to this day and has caused me to change fields entirely. I neve want to experience something like this again, and have already turned away multiple peers who received offers from Stella Rising.

Pros

- Smart, hardworking people on the Paid Search team who genuinely care about client performance - Exposure to small-medium, well-known accounts with meaningful budgets - Opportunity to take ownership of major accounts early in your career - If you’re self-directed, you can learn a lot—because you’re forced to figure things out yourself - You will get to work on a beauty account if that’s your thing

Cons

- Leadership is disconnected from reality. Senior leadership had little awareness of what was happening day-to-day across the largest and most important accounts. - Leadership over reacts to LinkedIn posts and uses as their main knowledge source rather than actually testing. - Strategy teams often lack deep client or channel understanding, yet heavily influence decisions, slowing execution and creating unnecessary noise. - Credit-taking is a real issue. Innovative work and process improvements are not always attributed to the people who actually create them. - Constant fire drills, rework, and regular expectations to work outside normal hours due to strategy leads unable to align internally in a timely manner. - Work-life balance is average for the US, below average for agency. - Only 15 PTO days per year and they offer PTO sharing among employees due to low amount of PTO offered. - Health insurance is very expensive due to the small company size.
