Pros

stability, benefits --- you get paid every other week

Cons

It is a totally male-centric company with ZERO room for upward growth and development as an assistant; when asked about being promoted (I am female and in my 40's) I was told I didn't fit the model (not a man?) and was "too old" Sales personnel are referred to as "the men" -- raises are pathetic. Sales assistants do as much work as the male project managers who are fast tracked to become "sales MEN"

Pros

Freedom, prospecting availability, company events. Not much else.

Cons

Fear tactics, management is useless in aiding your business growth, empty promises of big money, low wages for work expected, culture is vindictive and manipulative, gossip is rampant. Senior executives routinely bad mouth younger sales agents and their work, without offering any actual help and guidance. Not selling a tangible material so when help is needed on new projects, sales managers will tell you to just do "some research" and offer no real experience and expertise on the subject. Corporate takes 55% of profit margin, which causes upper management to pressure sales agents to rip off their clients in the name of a buck. Avoid this company at all costs if you are just starting your career in sales. The flash and glamour disappear once the curtain is pulled back. Turnover rate is high for a reason. If I could rate "culture and values" as a 0 I would.

Pros

The only silver lining is learning how to not treat employees, manage, and run an office or company.

Cons

Sexism, is not only prevalent but completely tolerated. The mentality of the place is for a person to put the company above themselves at all costs. They prey on new hires to get the most work at minimal pay, while promising opportunities that are never going to come. Management is unchecked and only their to make themselves more money in anyway possible. There is no training every available, or when it is offered, management decides its not worth them loosing any hours or work to employees bettering themselves and learning new things. The culture and environment of the company is terrible, from rampant gossip, sexism, elitism, false promises, and common belittlement of employees.
