If you are over the age of 18, get a job at a full-service place.
Pros
Great job to have while you are still under 18 as you make a dollar or two over minimum. Great job to have to learn about the restaurant world. Great training.
Cons
You easily are exploited here, you work harder than you would at a full service restaurant where you would take home and easy $100 in tips. If you are younger your raise is less prioritize, no matter how hard you work. Tipping is split with front of house and back, and it is done from a tip pool of every two weeks! If you work only Friday and Saturday nights (busiest of the week) you are still given the same amount of tip as someone who were to work Monday and Tuesday morning (easiest and slowest shifts) your own personal handwork does not go far, as you essentially pull weight for others as far as tip pool goes, now at a full service restaurant I have been at now for almost two years as a server my work is not only more enjoyable, its a cake-walk and I am making the same mount of money in a day as I would in one week at Stonefire.
