Pros

The only good review I have of this company is they offered better pay that most other airline service operators.

Cons

Behind the shiny new equipment and nice uniforms, the true faults of this company lurk, they have on several occasions failed to pay over-time, did not have anyone certified on first aid which is a health hazard, the scheduling system makes no sense; they offered to be flexible but when it comes down to it, they won't be. We had three operations managers over six months, there is obvious favouritism to certain workers, and complaints to mangers go unheard or have been simply brushed off.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your work experience with our Company. Because we are a 24/7 operation, we have permission to operate under an averaging agreement. Under this type of agreement, overtime is paid differently than under provincial employment standards – but it is still paid. Many people are used to working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for a total of 40 hours each week. In that situation it is easy to calculate overtime – it will be anything over 40 hours (this may vary from province to province, but you get the general idea). With 24/7 operations, this is more difficult and can also explain the scheduling system. We have to work when the airlines do! We pay out overtime every 3 months and we do this by first of all calculating how many “normal” working hours there are in three months (40 hours x number of weeks). This becomes the threshold. Then we multiply the number of hours our employees have worked during the same period and then subtract one from the other. Any hours over the threshold is overtime and we pay it out. So, an averaging agreement simply averages the number of hours worked over the same period to determine overtime. Your other concern was regarding the operations manager. We work hard to make sure we hire the right manager for each base. Our smaller bases are often remote and it can be difficult to find someone who not only fits with our culture and values, but has the leadership skills we need. We are working hard to improve.

They don’t care about their employees.. just look at other one star reviews.. they’ve said it all. All of the other positive reviews are written my management to make the company look better.. but it’s not going to work..

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Company. We encourage all employees (both existing and potentially new ones) to look at what is being said about us on the Glassdoor. Although, I am sorry your experience was not what you hoped, other employees have had a positive experience. The comments made by employees (both good and bad) are not influenced by anyone; we encourage honest feedback. As a Company that has grown exponentially during the past 4 years we understand that growth from 150 employees to over 700 will have some bumps in the road, but we are doing our best to constantly improve. I hope your experience at your next job will be a better one.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Company. Over the past year we have taken steps to improve the employment experience for all employees. We now have a training department that has been tasked with creating improved training manuals and implementing a training program so that those who are delivering training are professional and concise in their approach. Our cold weather jackets have also improved; we are supplying Helly Hanson cold weather jackets. Finally, we have recently appointed a Director of Health and Safety to design and implement a full Safety Management System- safety is a primary concern that we do not take lightly.
