Pros

- The other "Employees" - Great Place to Obtain Horror Stories for how you want future companies to not treat you - Its a great place to pick up on the job experience for a career path that you did not go to school for

Cons

- Creating your Own LLC to work there (The Taxes will haunt you for years after you leave, especially if you live paycheck to paycheck) - The Owners Mostly Paul Leskiw, would constantly make you feel as though you had (in his words) a learning disability - Paul would praise people for doing simple tasks quickly and punish those who took to long doing more difficult tasks - Paul would create "Managers" from the pool of "employees", set them up to fail, then when they DO fail, berate them. - "Managers" were not chosen by their ability to manage but by the length of time they had worked there. - Raises are not given on merit (if at all) but based on if you get promoted to "Management" - "Managers" are required to uphold Paul's rules but when the rules are no longer convenient for Paul, the "Managers" are rendered powerless with no rhyme or reason - There is no official rule book, so many of the rules are discovers by someone doing something the owners don't like, with no real rhyme or reason - Often times first offenders of rules (before they are "official" are immediately fired - "Managers" are required to be on call 24 7 and IT is used as the owners PERSONAL IT as well as business IT - Pay is not competitive, and arbitrary (IE a "manager" could be making quite a bit less than the people they are "managing", despite having worked at SMS longer, be more expierenced, and be doing more work) - There are no benefits, compensation, sick days, or paid holidays - While the above may not seem terrible the company actually shuts down on holidays leaving it's "employees" with no choice but to lose out on a days worth of pay - When Business conditions are not favorable "employees" can be encouraged/required to take days off with no pay - Consistently asked to blatantly lie to the company's customers

Awful.

Pros

- Compensation is pretty standard and overtime is covered - Got decent experience in my field while I worked there

Cons

- Upper management is difficult to deal with - Too many unrealistic deadlines with no real direction - Not given enough tools to do the job correctly and efficiently - Payroll is pretty complicated and getting paid once a month can be a hassle - For whatever reason, we would move our desks every other week - Inconsistent communication between upper management and middle management - No work life balance - expect to work long hours and not be recognized for your efforts - Must form your own LLC to work for the company and sign a contract that basically voids most common benefits you would expect from an employer

Pros

Good Start, provided me a job when I needed one.

Cons

Contract Employee by definition, Slave by reality. If you don't get in line and say yes to all nonsense, you have a learning disability. No room for those who carry a different thought or opinion. The direction should listen as they are not as wise as they believe hence the lack of success of the company.
