Pros

Pay is okay Offsites are in some awesome places Some ( but very few ) great coworkers

Cons

Consistently met with unprofessionalism, disorganisation and poor work environment and culture. Examples of this included : 1. permanent churn of staff, high turn over from way before I worked there and a lot of firing. After firing happened, copy and pasted message goes into slack announcements for org to see. There accounts where usually shut down then in an hour and their names where never spoken again. 2. ‘Feedback culture’ promoted as part of core values but often were used as a way to bully, put someone down or for management to fire someone they didn’t like. A lot of my colleagues received feedback I would credit as harmful and inappropriate. They use the Edward de bonos thinking hats but have manipulated it, only use three of the hats to promote their own narrative. 3. Part of these feedback sessions you would have , would be about what you are doing right, what you can do better and what you should stop doing. ( the theee hats they use) They would send these feedback reviews out to everyone you work with and they would write your feedback for you. And if you didn’t have a good relationship or they didn’t like you they would write massively inappropriate reviews on you. And you have to sit with your manager, no HR most of the time and read this out . And then they say and use this almost as a disclaimer of ‘ you don’t need to always take this feedback on’ . 4. Was advised within my first two months that if I wanted information to go to the CEO to talk to Strategyzers external coach, but was also warned about the external coach but encouraged to go to them by leadership. The external coach was meant to give you professional sessions on weaknesses you have. She was cold and would often show up late to sessions, would only advise you based on what was needed in Strategyzer them and I would often catch her reading or relying to emails during our sessions that apparently were extremely expensive. 5. No HR support , ever. Not just down to the unprofessional people they hire but also due to the fact they fire them all. Then the HR part of the org is managed by someone in a senior position in the company who has never worked in HR. A cycle which repeated itself numerous times during my time there. 6. Workplace culture was really just a Popularity contest. . Very clicky, if you ran in the senior management circle, you were actively shown more respect and more valued as an employee . Or if you were really good friends with one of the managers ( Customer success - looking at you ) then you are also more valued. if you are liked by senior managers you are in a good position, until you speak up again at them or their ideas and then you fired. This also led to people actively watching managers say inappropriate statements or fly off the handle and they would just act like it was okay, or they needed to let that out. People with strong personalities suddenly became very agreeable and could find ways to justify behaviours that were not acceptable. 7. Used slack as their main source of communication which was a disaster. Information always lost, important messages going unread, confusing direction, constant distraction. I was once part of a thread on slack where they were discussing the bad reviews that Strategyzer revived on Glassdoor from interview candidate feedback ( they fired the HR manager after this ) and one employee suggest that we all go and write positive reviews on Glassdoor to prove it’s a good company. I also was told about one employee reading messages on a senior management thread about one of the female employees being not dedicated enough because she couldn’t come to an event even though she had just had a baby 8. Not a healthy experience or environment for anyone. 9.
