Pros
Stripe continues to be an amazing brand with strong products, smart people, and an innovative culture. The teams on the ground are generally talented and passionate about solving hard problems for customers. The mission and the pace of work are exciting, and there’s a lot of potential if the right leadership is in place.
Cons
Unfortunately, the APAC region feels like it’s operating without a clear compass. My regional leader is articulate and polished, but beneath the surface there’s a noticeable lack of depth and capability. Whether in understanding local markets, product strategy, and especially team dynamics. There’s a pattern of saying the right things without any real substance, and it’s become increasingly obvious to those working closest to the execution layer. Many peers have voiced similar concerns privately not out of bitterness, but out of frustration that so much team potential is being wasted. Morale has suffered because teams want a capable an accountable leader, not vague presentations or empty motivational speeches. This individual is not right for this role. It’s puzzling that Stripe, a company that prides itself on hiring excellence, hasn’t addressed this gap with someone who has real operational and strategic capability in the region.
