First, thank you for taking time to provide your views about working at Structured – both what you see as good and what should be improved. It shows me that you care enough about your job and about this company to want to make it better. I completely agree with the Pros you listed. We DO have amazing engineers at this company, and I am always gratified to see the great working relationships so many people have fostered here.
Naturally, the Cons are always harder to see, but they are no less valuable. Please know that I never want Structured’s employees to feel underpaid, overworked, and without a way to advance. In our nearly 30-year history, we’ve earned a fantastic track record of promoting people from within and – equally impressive in my view – most Structured employees have worked at the company for at least 5 years. For many, that span is greater than a decade. This kind of longevity is very rare in IT and indicates to me that we do a lot of things right. Of course, as a small private business, there are definitely transitional times when the workload is heavier, pay raises are not as liberal as everyone would like, and communication is not as “closed-loop” as it should be. But, we work it out and pull through together – better for it on the other side.
If you still have concerns, please know my door is open to you… and to everyone else at Structured. We have remained in business for 3 decades because we know how to adapt and grow as a solution provider. That mindset also applies to our internal processes and structure. We’re never done improving.
