A community built on studying, friendships, and snacks!
Pros
The biggest reason I enjoy working here is the people. Both the students and fellow tutors bring so many different experiences and outlooks on life that just talking to each other is a learning experience. The work schedule is very flexible, and students are paired with you based on your expertise. The other tutors are very helpful and are valuable resources for each other. There are plenty of opportunities for community involvement like going to some of the high schools and putting on study-a-thons or assisting in Quiz Bowls. Because of the Study Hut theme, the whole atmosphere is very laid back and calm, making being a tutor feel like less of a job and more of a beach vacation.
Cons
The biggest downside goes hand in hand with a typical school year in that the number of students drops during breaks and summer vacation.
