Pros

Subex offers a great deal to freshers to solidify development practices. There is exposure to a wide range of platforms and languages and a lot to learn. It is super helpful to start your career here if you plan to continue your career as a developer. You will gain good work discipline but at what cost?

Cons

Work-life balance is an alien concept, there is work and nothing else. Management does not value personal time or space. After-hours calls are the norm. Recognition and encouragement for effort is rarely given. The type of work gets monotonous after a year or so. Working with the framework is like craving a sculpture with a paint brush and a potato masher. It is extremely frustrating to work with the framework as it is not stable. Process adherence is a myth and they only exist in meeting rooms. Throughout my stay with Subex, there was literally no one common process followed across project within the same department. Speaking of which documentation is also a myth. Most existing documentation is not the least bit helpful, they are just occupying space on some poor server. As a developer, there were unrealistic expectations and somehow developers are routinely held accountable to screws ups from testing teams. As a former colleague eloquently put it, "Even Shudras are treated better than the developers." Work pressure is high, so high that I have in fact I developed anxiety and have had several panic attacks during my 2 years with Subex. Thanks for that. Expectations set are irrational and unrealistic. They know that and you know that but it is the accepted norm. There is a lack of sympathy from managers and HR to plights of their employees, especially if the employee has to commute a lot or uses the cab service.

Pros

1) Canteen 2) Bank account is Axis Bank which has certain benefits like cashback at petrol pumps.

Cons

1) They hire students from colleges without telling them about the role for which they hire (even if they are hired as developer 1st day of joining or during training they will be put into Support (GS | MS)/Testing. Testing is completely manual; no automation testing here. 2) Cab facility is for there, but for many areas cabs are not available. If you are in MS OR GS department , then your timings will be according to the site(country) you are assigned, which means you are mostly required to work beyond 8pm , there is no cab facility at that time except for womens, you have to arrange your own transport facility. 3) Management is worst, especially for 2 departments - Global Support (GS) & Managed Services operations (MS), when actually the main revenue comes from these 2 dept. Managed Services operations (MS), has the worst kind of managers you will get. Just pray to god you are not put into this department. Also it is the only department with 3 months notice period, rest other departments have 2 months, can't understand this logic (they justify this logic by saying its client facing department). Clients are not kids that they need spoon feeding, 2 months is sufficient time for them to get adjusted to a new person. There are cases in MS department where few managers have harassed(mentally) the freshers, because of which they stopped coming to company 1 fine day, coz they needed mental peace. Please understand MS dept. requires a lot of knowledge on Telecom domain, as freshers are from CS/IS background they fail to understand it completely as the training given is very basic. 4) No respect is given to the freshers, many have already absconded or else resigned from this company due to harassment. They don't give proper training/KT that is required & expect them to work at pro-level. Training given to them after joining has no connection with the actual work- which is the main reason their performance suffer. 5) Skilled resources quit job very frequently. Very Very less good managers are left. Too much politics by seniors, favouritism towards people who are close to them. 6) Using Same old technology and very adamant to change it. 7) Lot of internal politics within team while promoting people (it depends on team, some teams are very good) 8) No proper criteria for hikes; for the same Rating people get different hikes. In GS the hike for 2017 set-batch was 5%, & HR justifies it by saying that that get extra amount anyway because of working overtime & all. Please we work OVERTIME to get that amount, it's not like we are getting it for free. Respect the amount of work we do & give hike accordingly. 9) There were quite a few meetings held to get employee feedback but I have noticed that the management is very defensive about receiving feedback and most of the employees with valuable insight are put off by this. Either pick up a book how to receive and react to feedback and criticism or don't have these pointless meetings.

Pros

1. I've found some great colleagues while working with this company 2. Ever since Surjeet left Subex, all the pros of Subex disappeared.

Cons

1. Cost cutting is way too much, it's sickening. Cheap mentality from HR and CPO. When Subex employee asked to replace Cothas Coffee with Bru/Nescafe/better one the actual response from HR in their words was " Considering economics, it's not feasible", there are several companies out there which provides free launch, free transportation and a decent perdiems but Subex provides none of yet and expects a revenue growth with unsatisfied employees. 2. You always end up working more than 10 hours a day, No work-life balance. 3. All the best managers already have left the company. 4. Work from home policy taken down 5. Team outing is non existent, with 750 rs budget, who can have a decent team outing (considering economics - lol)
