Pros

Summit has potential to be great. The biggest pro I can think of is that I was at one of the only offices that offered snacks and sodas for their employees.

Cons

My experience at Summit reflected a culture that often felt outdated and inequitable. There was a clear tolerance for unprofessional behavior toward women—both employees and clients—which created a difficult work environment. On multiple occasions, I heard executives make inappropriate comments about the “type” of woman they wanted to hire, including age and family plans, which was deeply concerning. Political discussions were also frequent and often expressed in a divisive or negative manner, which contributed to an uncomfortable atmosphere. Although I was a full-time salaried employee, I was required to clock in and out like an hourly worker, and strict expectations around in-office hours and short lunch breaks were enforced. Remote flexibility appeared inconsistent and seemed to depend on gender. Workloads were heavy, and contributions often went unrecognized. When I joined, I was told it would be a collaborative, team-oriented environment, but that was not the reality. Mistakes were frequently addressed publicly rather than handled constructively in private, which was discouraging and unprofessional. During my final two weeks, I was largely excluded by leadership and most coworkers, which was disappointing and revealed a lack of maturity at the executive level. No exit interview was offered, suggesting little interest in employee feedback or improvement opportunities.

Pros

I have felt extremely attended to and supported throughout my time here at Summit. The teams you work with are very honest, friendly, and open about connecting on anything needed. If you need assistance you can almost guarantee there will be someone readily available to help you, regardless of your issue, and I find that impressive. They have created a welcoming and collaborative environment where you feel valued. Also, it feels like an organization where you can truly make a difference due to its size, allowing for meaningful contributions and career growth. Additionally, Summit is a constantly expanding the organization, which brings hope for even more opportunities in the future. This says a lot, as Summit is already incredibly established, and has many different areas and teams that one could contribute to. I am confident that their growth will continue to bring innovation in the company, making it a place where both Summit and its employees can better themselves over time.

Cons

I wouldn't have listed a con, but since one is required, the only improvement that comes to mind is the lack of remote or hybrid schedules. This could change in the future, maybe with banked remote days that could be used when all meetings are on zoom (which is often), but I do not know of a current plan for this. That said, if hybrid or limited remote work isn't considered, I would hope it doesn't imply that the company hires people who can't be trusted to do the work. The focus on in-person collaboration does emphasize the company's commitment to a strong team dynamic, as mentioned in the 'pros.'

Pros

Summit has offered an environment that’s unique. People really care about each other - not just at work, but also about what we’re going through outside the office. It’s a supportive and meaningful environment.

Cons

No opportunity to work remotely.
