      Be prepared not to think outside of the box

      Pros

      Nice office, mostly nice people, up-to-date tools, autonomy.

      Cons

      Can't think for yourself or have unique ideas, told to go after companies with high turnover so you make more money, stifling environment unless you do things THEIR way. Has offices across Canada to be perceived as a big company, but each office is run individually and there is very little interaction. No benefits.

      Pros

      I have been working at Summit Search Group for several years and love it. Working in recruitment is challenging and can be quite stressful but we have a positive environment and lots of support. Unlike other recruitment firms I worked for in the past, Summit does a good job of eliminating internal politics and the owners are constantly passing the staff great leads and projects. Good work-life balance and I don't ever feel like I am being micro managed.

      Cons

      The company is not huge so career advancement might be limited but income potential is unlimited and I am making more money now and have no desire to get into a leadership role so it works for me.

      Pros

      Supportive team and managers, Offices across Canada, great environment for self managed and motivated people. Flexibility to balance life and work. Focus is on partnering with great companies, and they have long term clients and respect in the market. Professional offices, they invest in technology.

      Cons

      Entrepreneurial culture may not work for everyone. People that do well at SSG are self starters and strong relationship builders.
