Great Benefits, Terrible Culture

Pros

Summit does offer great benefits to its employees in the way of medical, disability, parental leave, paid volunteer time off and 401K employer match.

Cons

Due to recent mergers/acquisitions, there have been multiple layoffs in the last couple of years which has resulted in a very understaffed workforce and an increased workload for most employees. The internal culture is awful and there is very little appreciation for work-life balance. Stay away unless you enjoy an environment where people are unhappy to be where they are each day.

Thank you for your feedback and the recognition of our benefits program. Over the last few years we’ve worked hard to broaden and strengthen our overall benefits package for employees. I’m sorry to hear you did not feel like you could take advantage of all the benefits we have to offer like PTO and Volunteer Time Off to achieve a better work life balance while you were working for Summit Utilities. As you know, the recent integration with AOG was a tremendous amount of work and certainly resulted in a lot of change company-wide. The feedback we’ve received from employees is that though the changes required some time to transition, they are welcome and have made the company not only a better place to work but also be able to operate more efficiently. Again, thank you for your feedback. We are always looking for honest input about the company, our culture and our day to day work environment. - Kurt Adams, President and CEO

Pros

Location, enjoyable work, fast paced and lots to learn. Good pay for the industry.

Cons

The company is in the middle of reorganization. What use to be a small family business with local assets has been taken over by JP Morgan . Most jobs have been moved to the east coast or Arkansas. Job security in Colorado is low.

Thank you so much for taking time to share your feedback. No doubt, the company has experienced a lot of changes in recent years as we’ve continued to grow. With changes comes challenges and tough decisions about what is best for the company. I hope you know that none of these decisions is ever taken lightly. When decisions are made at the top, many factors come into play. One of them is the way it will impact all our employees. I – and the rest of the leadership team – often must make long-term business decisions that could have negative implications in the short term. If you bear with us during our time of growth, I believe that our whole company will feel a positive impact. As you know, my door is always open. I’d be happy to discuss any other feedback you may have next time I am in Littleton. - Kurt Adams, President & CEO

Pros

NO PROS. Not a thing about this company is good the pay might be the way to get you to leave your current gas company DON'T! Its Not worth it stay were your at and run far far away from this company.

Cons

Managed to be fired within 3 weeks of being hired based on Work Performance, to say the least in the 3 weeks here I spent that time working on CBTS All 56 of them. To put It lightly they have No C&M Crew you will be the one jumping in the hole to stop the blowing gas and good luck trying to stop the steel line with a squeeze off they don't have one, but don't say you wont do anything that's not safe because you will end up like myself and a friend of mine that was lured to this Unsafe and Poorly managed and understaffed Company I can not believe JPM Chase lets this go on under there umbrella let alone OSHA not getting involved! Also leaks on almost every meter and no one trained enough to fix them feel for the Customers that have Gas with them.
