Pros

Advantages - Such a "professional" management. Just WOW. - Hiring process is quick and swift (due to high turnover rate) - Pretty decent transport allowance: SGD 80/ month - Self directed learning and troubleshooting. Little or no guidance during onboarding.

Cons

Disadvantages - Snake management. If there's no problem, management will nick pick and find some minor issue and push the blame on you. If there's a problem, management will exaggerate the severity of the problem and throw you under the bus. - Unnecessary daily meetings that involve every department. However, when there are meetings with customer that require management to be present - management is no where to be seen. - Problems and conflicts are not resolved effectively. Management only cover their own backside. They do not do proper mentoring of their subordinates (problems are not discussed and resolved in private). Instead, management will take every opportunity to diss you openly during meetings with others. Hence, problems and conflicts only worsen every time. - IT support: in name only. Kind of non existent as they take eons to reply or no reply at all. - Pay like peanuts. Workload like buffet. - Increments almost non existent. If have, it'll be extremely pathetic. However, the company still has got the financials to start new lines. Tips - Management paints a beautiful picture of the company to you during your first few months at the company. Do not be fooled! The honeymoon only lasts for a while. As you stay longer, you get to experience the culture layer by layer. Finally, when you are serving notice, all the true colours of the management will be revealed to you. - Be mentally prepared before you join - heavy workload, toxic management.

Toxic workplace with lousy management

Pros

Within walking distance to food places plus a central kitchen (Not at Joo Koon) Opportunity to learn independently, no training provided with little to no guidance (no knowledge transfer and retention) Good place to be if you are a thick-skinned subpar worker, management will blame the one tanking your supposed job Colleagues are all young as turnover rate is high, everyone is inexperienced together since its our first job Immediately be tasked with being a supervisor and handling managerial roles (with no increment or benefits) If you like drama, this is the place to be, morning meetings are the best time to hear the management having their internal quarrels

Cons

Toxic working environment, expected to handle problems and issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Low pay with hardly any VB, need to work 2 years to get the median starting engineer salary for the year you joined and your pay will be barely above the fresh grads that join in following years High workload and responsibilities, 1 person to handle multiple roles, management justifies this by saying lean management and uses the meager yearly(?) increment to threaten you When there's no issue, management will nitpick and find issues, when there's issues, management will flip and blame and flame the person solving the issue instead of tackling the issue (as the problem is usually management themselves, no action talk only) Management views employees as disposable, has no interest in employee retention, only thinks about cost saving and meeting their personal KPI Appraisals are a hoax, best period of time for management to threaten you, progression depends on whether management is able to use you, will blacklist you if you question him

Pros

- As long as you are favored, you are untouchable and can do no wrong and you can push your work to other people to do and can slack. - Never ending drama as gossips are entertaining when you are not the involved. - You will have friends as people come and go so often. - Get to experience first-hand, how toxic and gaslighting feels like. - Learning curve steep as many projects to handle. - Can test the limit of your patience. - On the job training provided.

Cons

- Backstabbers (especially those who are untouchable). - Management don't take in constructive criticism to their favored employees. - Pay way below market rate. - Uneven work load, it can be seen clear as day who are the people slacking off and not doing work while others are working. - Biasness and blaming culture is prevalent. - A simple misunderstanding and mistake can be seen as big mistake and will influence others into thinking that you are incapable. - People above you can blame you for their mistake even though you have let them know in advance for them to take action. - Must provide justification for OT and might be targeted for taking OT even with proper justification. - People don't respect your title because of your age. - Most people use Chinese at work even though it is at professional setting without any regards to anyone who may not know the language. - Diversity & Inclusion: None - Career Opportunities: Non-existent. - Quick to judge the people of lower hierarchy and can see no wrong from upper hierarchy. - No work life balance as you need to answer calls even late at night. - Zero to no communication and blame you for not knowing the information even though you maybe directly involved in the project.
