Avoid Supernal at all costs

Pros

Salary - depending on your position

Cons

Supernal touts itself as innovative and forward-thinking, but behind the facade lies a cesspool of toxicity and mismanagement. The EC lacks transparency and accountability, making decisions that benefit their own interests rather than fostering a supportive environment for employees. Career advancement opportunities are virtually nonexistent, as promotions are often based on favoritism (especially in the legal group) rather than merit. This fosters resentment and undermines morale among employees who are overlooked for advancement despite their hard work and dedication. Communication is practically non-existent at Supernal. Important information is withheld (attendance tracking) leaving employees in the dark about company goals, changes, and developments. Instead of transparency, there's secrecy and manipulation, which only adds to the overall sense of disillusionment. The CEO is emotional, erratic and unsuited to be in the position. He has no business saavy and does not rely on the “experts” to advise him. His irrational decisions always have a negative down stream effect on the lower level employees. And finally Supernal is like a big high school. Employees in romantic relationships between departments, managers hiring and protecting their friends, and legal who is virtually untouchable.

Pros

Salary and Benefits, though this pro hardly outweighs the cons

Cons

1. No communication and siloed work everywhere. Because of this, most things are extremely behind schedule, but employees are forced to push false dates up the chain to management. 2. The CEO has no business running this company. He makes emotional and irrational decisions to compensate for his mismanagement and utter lack of leadership skills. Like forcing everyone to be in the office 5 days a week or risk being fired. 3. The RTO policy is only applied to some employees, while others come and go at will. 4. Ridiculous and frivolous spending everywhere. Are the in office perks nice? Sure. Should 3 multimillion dollar office buildings have been opened at the same time before the company even had demonstrated a minimally viable product? Nope. Are employees penalized for bumbling and foolish financial and business decisions in the name of RTO policies? Yep. 5. Promotional opportunities seem nonexistent, even when you are doing work far above your pay grade, while senior leaders continue to be promoted and patted on the back, etc. 7. The CTO holds All Hands meetings in which he states that employees need to work with a sense of urgency unless they want to be out of a job by 2025. Leading by fear mongering. 6. Performance reviews are over a month late, no one knows if they are getting merit increases or bonuses. HR is an absolute joke. Bottom line, if this company does not make serious adjustments very soon it is a lost cause, and it may be too late anyways. Run far far far away if you can.

Pros

Has a great website and a cool vision, fairly good pay (well-funded company) but not much else.

Cons

Very hierarchical and political. Low emphasis on actual employee performance. Mismanaged company, no financial discipline. People at the top stay at the top through intimidation. Somehow, this company managed to blend all of the worst aspects of a new company/startup with the worst qualities of an archaic corporation.
