The Surespan Group most definitely tolerates bullying and harassment, maybe not from long-term employees or new employees within their probationary period, but most definitely from family members, who all got their jobs by either being born or marrying into the family, often with no formal experience in their assigned field.
There is no denying this - reach out to any former Surespan HQ employee and they will confirm the well-known and blatantly tolerated toxic, emotionally unhinged and beyond unprofessional behaviour of at least one senior head office employee. There is no recourse for this - HR has its hands tied by the president. Cases have gone to the Human Rights Tribunal and more will surely follow.
Talented senior managers churn out at the speed of light - if you're not interested in being a yes man or appear to be challenging authority in any way, you're not going to have a fun time. While disagreements and healthy debate are to be expected in senior roles anywhere, the environment here goes well beyond that and veers into abusive workplace dynamics and theatrics that are not worth it unless you're absolutely desperate. Thank god for LinkedIn where you can reach out to former employees and get their honest opinion. I highly encourage anyone considering a role at this company to do just that, no one leaves Surespan HQ with a good impression.
The "best" roles at the Surespan office are low-level admin and project coordination. You'll probably get paid above market rate, can enjoy the seemingly "laid back" and "fun" environment without getting dragged into the politics above your head. If you have zero career ambitions and just want to excel at a steady gig with little responsibility, Surespan may be just the place for you.
