Pros

Apart from a few coworkers that have your best interest in heart, nothing.

Cons

They treat their employees like children. They micromanage you every chance they get and insult your emotional intelligence when you stand up for yourself. They sell their company as a fun working environment with a pool table and ps4 but, dare you finish all your work and decide to 'have fun' you'll get fired. White people earn way more than POC in the same role. They are always been taken to the CCMA. They talk badly about their former employees and constantly stalk you on Linkedin. They are always hiring new staff because they cannot retain anyone because of how pathetic their management is. HR is nonexistent. The only positive review here is from a manager that's just as toxic as the company. Don't be fooled. It's not worth your mental health.

The site’s anonymity does, unfortunately, protect those who make false, libellous, and defamatory claims without any detail. SurTech is always hiring, not because we need to retain staff but because of company growth. Having grown from 48 employees in 2020 to over 80 in 2023, the numbers speak for themselves. Due to Covid, staff members were kept from using the pool table or ps4 in the office. This was not a SurTech policy but a government regulation to reduce the spread of Covid. If you want to know about our culture, check out the videos on our Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts . . . let actual employees tell you about us.

Pros

Surtech offers students a great first step into the corporate world. As a mature professional company they have a processes to onboard and train new team members and a manager who sat with us to help and mentor and make sure we succeed. Our team was all a similar age, and very diverse and I have made lifelong friends with people from different nationalities across Africa which is great. The company has a very flat management structure and executives greet everyone by name so you aren’t just a number.

Cons

My team was expected to work from 7:30 to 4 in the office and some other teams work remote or hybrid which isn’t fair. On popcorn days if you are behind your KPI you aren’t allowed to socialise as long as the people who are over their target.

Pros

Working at the company offers a multitude of advantages, key among them being the provision of excellent training opportunities that facilitate professional growth and skill development. The very modern office space enhances productivity and creativity, offering a comfortable and stimulating work environment. Additionally, the collaborative environment between colleagues stands out as a significant plus, fostering a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and mutual support. This synergy not only elevates the quality of work but also contributes to a more enjoyable and fulfilling work experience.

Cons

The primary con of working at the company is its strict training procedure, which may initially seem daunting to some. However, this rigorous approach can be turned to one's advantage, as it ensures that employees are well-prepared and thoroughly knowledgeable about their roles and responsibilities. This comprehensive training process ultimately contributes to personal and professional development, setting a solid foundation for success within the company.
