I have been working at Swarovski part-time for more than a year

      Pros

Good training Lot of room to upskill due to a large amount of responsibility each senior staffer is given 60% off staff discount Great coworkers

      Cons

Management are VERY lazy and as CASUALS, we work more than double the number of hours as our manager and do all managerial tasks except for rostering, which is never organised based on our availabilities that we submit. Rostering is an absolute mess, as we get rostered on days that we aren’t available on and then it becomes our responsibility to find people to cover the shift. Also, when managers over-budget early in...

      Advice to Management

Hire competent managers that understand the responsibilities of the job they’re paid to do and that don’t complain about workloads that are the bare minimum of a managerial role, which they applied for. Hire managers that are willing to lead by example and demonstrate themselves what they expect in their team, instead of demanding results that they are unable to achieve themselves. Allow senior staffers to anonymously...

        Cons

Can sometimes get a bit boring when traffic is down, just like any other retail. Sometimes can be tiring during key trade periods

I worked at Swarovski part-time for more than 3 years

            Pros

            - Generous staff discount - average pay - good hours (when you have good managers) - Few good managers and team members (but moved on from the company to better career opportunities)

            Cons

The company was good when I first joined (2014). The management had a good structure and things ran smoothly. However, due to management changes starting from the HQ to in-store, it really changed the working environment. There had always been a big focus on KPIs, however, the company grew to only care about money and not the customers nor staff. New managers were being dodgy, providing discounts where it was not valid...

            Advice to Management

            - get rid of people that are poisonous to the company - money is important, but so are morals - value your staff --> because they are the ones that make you money and actually get you to where you are - take a good look at what's going on within the company. What goals need to be set, how you can achieve them and what you need to improve on.
