Easy and fun summer job!

Pros

I worked for this company last year and am returning this year because I enjoyed it so much! Everyone has different experiences especially because this company has locations in different states! I got access to the pools during downtime (when there was nobody at the pool and all work was completed of course), the pool I was assigned to at the beginning of the season was brand new as the community was just built so the summer was very quiet! The work is pretty easy and cleaning was very minimal! Shifts varied from 5-10 hours and you were given plenty of break time!

Cons

Some people go on vacation or some people are still in high school and you end up being short staffed occasionally! The pay is decent but nothing you can live off of; the lifeguard position is great for high school kids or even college students. I made $8/hour my first summer (it was my first year guarding) and this summer I was bumped up to $9/hour. It's way less in other states so I think I got lucky here.

Pros

This is a full service pool company. They do it all: Lifeguards, pool cleaning, renovations, repairs, etc. The management from the top down genuinely cares about its employees and wants the best staff they can hire. Training is thorough for lifeguards and service technicians. Sweetwater Pools strives to put the best product in front of the clients and patrons and wants to be the best service provider available. Don't hesitate to contact Sweetwater Pools for employment or if your neighborhood is looking for a new pool management company!

Cons

Summers are busy, but that is part of the job. Making sure that everyone is enjoying their time at a clean pool in a safe environment is our number one priority.

Pros

Flexible hours, relatively easy work, great for people who are only looking to work over summers, opportunity to work outdoors in the fresh air, active/social environment when not on stand

Cons

Costly annual recertification, inconsistent management (I had a new supervisor each of the 5 summers that I worked for the company, some of them were not particularly qualified), low pay with minimal raise each year (also tricky management who tries to deny giving promised raises when they can)
