Changing and not in a positive way

Pros

Friendly colleagues below director level. A genuine wish to help the sport and those taking part in the sport(s). There are many experts in their field trying to do a great job.

Cons

Recent changes highlight a move away from flexibility with people being told they need to be in the office more for collaboration. Cancelling of the employee awards, Christmas party and the company day (Christmas Eve) highlight a turn away from people centric and more toward control. SLT got a 3 day trip to 'plan' though and came back with changes they had not spoken to heads of departments about. Lots of money spent on consultants and now they say they are falling short on projected income. Quick fixes and no real direction from a recently expanded directorship under a new CEO.

Pros

There are definitely some positives. The flexibility to work from home two days a week is appreciated, and most salaries sit around the market median, which feels fair. Day to day, most colleagues are friendly and supportive, it’s easy to get along with people and build good working relationships within teams. The office is nice and modern and you are provided with decent equipment.

Cons

That said, the company’s approach to flexibility has shifted in a way that’s frustrated a lot of staff. More people are being brought back into the office under the banner of “collaboration,” but it often feels more like micromanagement than genuine teamwork. Full-time home working contracts are only available if at least half of your weekly work is field-based, which has really limited the organisation’s ability to attract or retain talented people who live further afield from Loughborough.
