Truly a great place to work

Pros

Age average is young, atmosphere still feels startup-like and there are many opportunities to contribute for motivated employees who wish to grow within the company. It’s a great place to meet brilliant and innovative minds. No matter the title, everyone is accessible, making the work environment really enjoyable. There are a lot of work-related communities internally as well as many social/sport groups available to join. Long list of perks and benefits, bonuses for all employees every year for an amount that depends on the outcome of the company’s goals for the year, stocks given to all employees every year, etc. Swissquote as an employer is fair and there are tons of inspiring success stories within the company. Can only recommend after 10+ years spent at the company, I have only good memories of this past decade.

Cons

The work/life balance is not always easy to manage considering the company’s fast growth but it’s not an overkill either.

Hit or miss

Pros

A good place to find friends at. People come from all around the world. The Gland office has a pub in the building so there's always a chance to get to know your work colleagues better over a drink after work.

Cons

The work in the Gland office mostly consisted of performing management duties and coordinating offshore teams. There are no dedicated QA teams so all the investigation of bugs and validating deployments is on the onshore teams. This leaves little to no time to do actual development tasks and grow as a software engineer. Most of actual coding and designing was done by the offshore team. When I was finally assigned a coding task, the development experience could only be described as poor.
