Pros

Regular hours, pay, and distance.

Cons

Very dysfunctional staff. Manager has control issues and wants to desperately control something, so he demeans female staff. This particular manager has no leadership skills and needs a lot of retraining. He is very messy and likes to start tension in the department. Very unprofessional.

Pros

Residents love when they are recognized by those who pay attention and care for them.

Cons

I was hired as a barista and I was told for about a month that I would eventually be trained once they got to it. I eventually became a full server instead of barista. They decided to change my hours without asking me first. They confronted me in front of everyone in a very rude manner and just told me that my hours would be changed the next day. Eventually some people started quitting and staffing became very low, even though staffing had already been short before I had been hired. Shifts became dreadful to everyone due to the amount of chaos that went on. There was never a break it was a constant go and no one had a nice attitude towards each other. The manager never worked on the weekends and when needed to come in for extra help she would never want to. Nothing got resolved when things got brought up to the kitchen executive chef. I eventually quit after a large incident happened. I have a friend who still works at the Crown Point location and nothing has changed, but has definitely increased in the complications. Schedules constantly get changed without any type of consent. No one is notified because schedules come out a month in advanced and then the manager decides to change them whenever she wants to. I also saw things with the patients being that I delivered meals to them and they were poorly treated and when needed help a CNA would either say “I’ll get them later” or some other things that I would not like to repeat. The way that the residents are treated is very unfair and cruel. Also when State is in the building the rules change completely. Everyone does what they are suppose to do, but the minute they see State walk out of the door everything goes back to how it was. Everyone is very unprofessional and does not keep up on the things they are needed to do. I was hired the 3rd day that State was in the building and it was like walking on egg shells because no one knew what to do and didn’t like that they were there. Symphony of Crown Point is a very poorly managed and ungrateful environment to work in.
