Simply... Synbio Tech is where careers go to die.
It's a company that is circling the drain in the US with daily drama. Refused to let people work remotely, forced people into the office... then hired 2 new remote positions. The office smells of sewer gas due to the bathroom down the hall. They stopped giving out bonuses and commissions. They won't honor contracts but hold you to them.
Pretty much, you are an indentured servant... do what you are told or be terminated. Ironically, CEO will continue to ask you for your opinion/strategy, but if it does not align with his... terminated. If you do not reach unrealistic goals based on his BS strategy... terminated. You are constantly put into a lose-lose situation with no resources (those have been cut) and a CEO unwilling to listen while still blaming the team for not hitting numbers supported by nothing. The belief system is that if you were making 1 billion last year, lost 0.5 billion this year, the next year you should be able to hit 1 billion again (highly exaggerated numbers) because historically you hit a billion even though the clients that made up the 0.5 billion are gone.
CEO states over and over again, data-driven results, we are different.
Never once showed any data supporting his claims/strategy while at the same time telling people we had the wrong numbers... never any alignment, but a whole lot of blame. Always great for a scientific company (sarcasm).
CEO also gave a strategy presentation filled with spelling errors, images/text not fitting into slides, and no substance to employees and investors. The quality was of a 5-year-old. Then at the same time complains about the quality of information sent to clients.
Flat out, they do not care at all about the employees... you are a number. Forced employees into office during an ice storm, an employee was in a car accident breaking their back... they didn't care then tried to strip PTO and forced into the office for a position the employee could perform easily from home while recovering.
